Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) is a global Hindu fellowship rooted in the Vedic tradition and revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781–1830). Established in 1907 by Shastriji Maharaj, BAPS continues to be guided today by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj.
Dedicated to the spiritual and social upliftment of individuals, families, and communities, BAPS promotes harmony through five core values: Family, Service, Culture, Spirituality, and Youth Development.
With over 5,000 centers worldwide, BAPS inspires millions to live with compassion, integrity, and devotion. Followers strive to live by five lifelong vows — no alcohol, no addictions, no adultery, no meat, and no impurity of body or mind — forming a foundation of purity, discipline, and selfless service.
Every day, BAPS families practice prayer (puja), reflection, and seva (selfless service), carrying these values into schools, workplaces, and communities, and contributing positively to society.
